Top-notch tool but a bit narrow for some applications
By Nathan Beauchamp
Calphalon is probably best known for their chef quality cooking pans (which I also own) but they're starting to make a name for themselves with their supporting cast of cooking tools as well. I've used a broad variety of kitchen utensils over the years from super cheap wood ones to high quality Good Grips. Of them, Calphalon are among the very best. The reason is simple: extremely high build quality. All of the Calphalon utensils are made of high density plastic with slightly softer plastic handles. They are a single piece of forged nylon which makes them extremely durable. I've been using a set for over a year non-stop and they still look new. Because they are nylon, they are hugely resistant to heat and will not easily melt or deform if accidentally left in a hot pot or pan. They also will not scratch your non-stick pots and pans (or even hard anodized pans if you have them). They also each have a small eyelet that will allow you to easily hang them if that's your thing.
This is a great turner (or spatula) but it is fairly narrow. It's not really useful for flipping pancakes or other larger food items. It is great for stir fry though. Just be aware that you might not be able to use it for EVERYTHING.
If you prefer professional kitchen tools, these are for you. For a slightly higher price you get a much nicer tool that will last practically forever. As well made as Calphalon's pot/pan sets, they're premium quality utensils.

the lip is too thick, but it's a nice compact size.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R36EQ7O1CA9Y1R yeah, it looks good, but sometimes I have a difficult time flipping patties. I wish the lip would have been narrower. Sounds minor, but it's a bigger deal than it sounds.
on a positive note, this turner is great for eggs, and matches the Calphalon pans. Finally, I love the compact narrow size. It doesn't take up a lot of space in the clean dish rack next to the sink.
Overall, it's just okay.

Fine Kitchen Tool
By Jarucia Jaycox Nirula
A recent purchase of some high end non-stick cookware prompted a hunt for a non-steel turner.
In all, this Calphalon turner works well, but I would have like to see a thinner lip at the end to help with sliding under things, such as the fried eggs I usually make in these pans.
It's my own fault for not buying a wider version, but from the picture (which is the best) it looked as if it would be wide enough.
Overall, it's a fine tool, but nothing I was overly impressed with when I pulled it from the box and put it to use.
