tongs came, tongs went. but these are keepers.
By Kellie
i needed a 9-10" set of tongs with silicone tips and well-located finger grips, and tongs which also securely locked when not in use. these tongs replaced the other two brands i've been using, an improvement in every way.
i do prefer orka 1-piece silicone spatulas, but orka didn't seem to offer a set of silicone tongs the right length with silicone gripper stips that are long enough for the way i hold and use the tongs. what good is a short strip of silicone 2-3 inches from the top?
not a problem with these tongs. not once have my hands slipped, not once has food dropped or flown due to fingers slipping and the tongs flying open. lol.
although wonderful tongs all the way around, ultimately it is the great placement of the silicone grippers that really makes this the perfect tool.

A Good Choice for 9-inch Tongs
By Elizabeth
UPDATE APRIL 2012: Regarding Orka 12-inch Stainless and Silicone Tongs in Blue: On the Orca tongs, the actual tongs, not counting the loop, are 1/8" shy of 11 inches. The actual tongs are almost two inches longer than the Progressive 9-inch tongs. The 12-inch measurement includes the loop.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I couldn't decide what length tongs I wanted, so I ordered both these tongs and the Orka 12-inch Stainless and Silicone Tongs in Blue.
Although I ultimately chose the Orka, here are some reasons to choose these tongs:
1. If you prefer the 9-inch length, this is a great choice for tongs.
2. Perhaps you have a small kitchen with space limitations.
3. These are heat-resistant to 600° Farenheit and will get the job done.
The 12-inch tongs are also gripper tongs like these. They have blue grips on the side. I chose them because I want a little more distance between my hands and any popping grease.
Coming from a background of using the more traditional scissor-like tongs, I was a bit apprehensive as to whether I could adjust to this style of tong, but I did so with no problem.
Silicone utensils are recommended by some manufacturers of stainless steel cookware, like All-Clad and Cuisinart, to keep from scratching stainless steel cookware. They also work great with nonstick cookware and hard anodized cookware.
I first became interested in acquiring silicone tongs after I purchased the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel 12-piece Cookware Set. I have been thrilled with silicone utensils as they absolutely will not scratch my stainless.
Highly recommended.

PLEASED
By P. Finamore
I AM WELL PLEASED WITH THESE TONGS. THIS IS THE ONLY
BRAND I COULD FIND WITH GRIPPERS. I DID NOT WANT ANY
LONGER THAN THE 9 INCHES. I THINK THIS LENGTH IS PERFECT.
THEY WERE SO GREAT I BOUGHT MY THREE DAUGHTERS A PAIR ALSO.
