Good deal and it works.

I've had my thermoworks oven thermometer for over three years and this is my first probe replacement (I got a spare originally but misplaced it). I've always been pretty careful with the probe according to the maker's recommendations. Turns out I think I finally fried the cable in my backyard BBQ. It quit working. I'm curious so I pulled the metal braiding off the cable and found the inner insulation was melted in one place. Everything was blackened there so I'm pretty sure a flare-up got it. I was doing a brisket and I turned the fire up to add some char. I should have stayed close by. The spare probe came quickly and at a fair price. There was a mini package of jellybellies in the box. Nice touch. I also got a free temperature chart with it. The thermometer works like new now and it seems accurate in boiling water (near sea level here). I wish the probes were fire proof but I've looked and looked and can't find anybody that sells one. For now, I think this is the best deal. This might not work with other probe thermometers. It won't work with my polder and the polder probe doesn't work with my thermoworks (at least not accurately).

Accurate and hasn't failed yet.

Both my spare and the original read dead on. I am careful with the probes and I have not had any problems whatsoever.

Spare

I just bought this probe as a backup. I've had my Original Cooking Thermometer for a few years and have used it a lot without any problems. But, I thought I'd better pick up one of these just in case.
